FC Mriya (Gostomel) played its first match at the all-Ukrainian amateur level and, unfortunately, suffered a significant defeat from one of the leaders of the Kyiv region football team, FC Lisne. After a gruelling match in the Kyiv Region Championship, where our team narrowly lost to Polissia (Stavky), the Dreamers arrived at the derby in the right mood, but with a limited team.

Please note that goalkeeper Yakovchuk acted as acting head coach for this match, while scoring midfielder Zhavko is not on Mriya’s national team. At the same time, the hosts were without one of their main strikers, Koval, who missed the match due to illness, but this did not prevent Forest from showing effective football.

A quick start from ‘Lisne’

From the start of the game, the hosts seized the initiative and began to create chances. The first goal came after Kalinin won the ball in the centre of the pitch and found Voloshin with a beautiful pass. Nazar confidently shot into the corner past our goalkeeper – 1:0.

Corner kick and second goal

After a sharp pass by Liga, Lisne received the right to a corner. Skepskyi took the corner, and Yakovenko won the header and doubled the home team’s lead with a header – 2:0.

The third goal was again a header

The Chepurnyi – Liga – Skepskyi combination again caused problems for Mriya. After a flanker from Liga, it was Skepskyi who finished the attack with a precise nod of his head – 3:0.

A fresh player and another goal

After the break, Lesne made several substitutions, one of which played immediately. Chobotar brought Voloshyn to the goalkeeper with a slot pass. Nazar beat Merezhyn in the corner of the goalmouth and sent the ball into the net – 4:0.

The standard worked again

Another corner kick from Skepskyi ended in a mistake on the goalkeeper’s exit, so Yakovenko literally kneed the ball into the net – 5:0.

A shot from outside the penalty area

The 6th goal was scored by Kalinin and Tkachenko: the latter broke through on the right flank and passed the ball across, and Oleksandr Kalinin hit the corner with a perfect shot from outside the penalty area – 6:0.

The end of the match

The final goal came after a multi-pass combination involving Chepurnyi, Lytvyshko and Vasyluk. After a graceful scoop, Denys received the ball in the penalty area and confidently scored from the bottom – 7:0.

Looking ahead

For our team, which has just started playing at the all-Ukrainian amateur level, the result was painful, but such matches help us understand the level of the tournament and our own weaknesses. Despite the outcome, Mriya is grateful to all the fans who supported the team on the road and hopes that in the next matches they will show their true potential.

There is still a long way to go, and Mriya will do everything possible to correct its mistakes and represent Gostomel with dignity on the national stage.
