It was one of the most fundamental games of the season – the Pryirpinia derby between FC Mriya and Sokil! Both teams represent Bucha district, and the confrontation between them has long gone beyond a simple game – it is a match of honour, ambition and football pride of the region.

Regardless of the standings, it has always been and will always be important for Mriya to be above Sokil. These two teams most often meet each other in tournaments involving representatives of the Bucha region, and each such meeting is a real battle.

This time the intrigue is even deeper: 6 Mriya players who played for the team in the first round are now defending the colours of Sokil. Among them are ex-captain Yuriy Yakovchuk (goalkeeper), Oleksandr Zmiievets, Oleh Mykolaychuk, Bohdan Lytvynov, Nazariy Horbunov and Dmytro Mulyar.

This match is not just a game. It is a principle, a history and a struggle for football dominance in the region.

And this time, Sokil still won.

The course of the game

3rd minute – Sokil’s first goal was a cold shower for the hosts. After a corner kick from Emelianov, the ball hit Zmiivets, who managed to keep it out of the box. A timely pass to Mykolaychuk resulted in an accurate shot – 0: 1.

29th minute – Sokil’s quick transition from defence to attack, and the ball goes to Vitaliy Emelyanov. The midfielder receives it on the flank, enters the penalty area and scores exactly in the bottom corner – 0: 2.

Second half – Mriya makes a series of substitutions, renews the flanks and centre of the midfield, trying to change the rhythm of the game. In several episodes, the Dreamers approached the opponent’s goal, created half-chances, but each time they faced an organised defence and reliable play of the former Mriya goalkeeper Yakovchuk.

83 minutes – Sokil’s counterattack through the right flank ended with the third goal. Andriy Borovskyi took a pass on the edge of the offside and beat Ivannikov – 0: 3.

Conclusion.

This match was a painful reminder of how much work remains to be done. The history of Mriya is not just about the result on the scoreboard. It’s about the journey. It’s about the idea. About a football dream that was born in difficult times and grows stronger with every shot.

The next meeting with Sokil will take place on 17 May as part of the 19th round of the Kyiv Region Championship. And it will be a completely different story.
