In the 14th round of the Kyiv Region Championship, Mriya faced a tough opponent – Olimp (Dmytrivka). The teams had already met in the third round and drew 1-1, so this time the Hostomel team was determined to make every effort to win and improve their standings.

At the time of the match, Mriya was seventh in the table with 15 points, while Olimp was only one point ahead. However, Mriya’s preparation was significantly hampered by personnel losses: captain Yevhen Kordiuk, as well as central midfielders Dmytro Prykhodko and Volodymyr Ivanets, were unable to take to the field due to injury. As a result, Mriya’s coaching staff made forced rotations, in particular, they chose a scheme with one forward, Maksym Vashchuk, and entrusted Vladyslav Zhavko with the captain’s armband.

First half

Quick start and a goal for Mriya

From the very first minutes, the hosts began to press hard. In just the 9th minute, Mriya opened the scoring:

  • Maksym Vashchuk broke through the defence and passed to Serhiy Kozak.
  • Kozak’s shot was miraculously saved by the Olympus goalkeeper, but the ball bounced to Dvali Soso.
  • Our top scorer with Abkhazian roots coolly finished the attack – 1-0.

Olympus’ instant response

In the 14th minute, the guests received a corner kick from the left flank. Olimp captain Anton Brovko took the ball, and Shushkov Maksym beat everyone in the air and sent the ball into the net – 1-1.

Before the halftime whistle, both teams tried to find ways to increase the score, but the defenders acted reliably on both sides.

Second half

Mutual attacks and fierce competition

After the break, the game became even more intense, with the ball frequently passing from one half of the field to the other. Mriya continued to use quick passes to Vashchuk, and Olimp responded with controlled attacks through the flanks.

Key moment in the 86th minute

When it seemed that the teams would sign for a draw, Olimp made a decisive attack. Dmytro Brovko received the ball within the penalty area and shot under the crossbar. The Mriya goalkeeper did not have time to react, and the ball flew into the back of the net – 1-2.

In the last minutes of the match, the Dreamers tried to get back into the game, but there was not enough time for a full-fledged assault.

The result

The 1-2 defeat was disappointing for Mriya, as the team made a lot of efforts to win one of the most important matches of the tour. However, the difficult circumstances and disappointing result did not break the team’s morale. The Mriynyky gained invaluable experience, once again realising how important it is to have a reserve of strength and depth in the second half of the championship.

We thank all the fans for their support! Despite the defeat, Mriya does not give up and continues its journey in the Kyiv Region Championship with confidence in future victories.

Mriya is unstoppable!
