FC Mriya loses to FC Mykolaiv 0:3 in the away match of the Ukrainian Championship

In the 2nd round of the Ukrainian Championship, FC Mriya travelled to Mykolaiv. The guests from the Kyiv region faced a real test – the hosts came out with an almost optimal line-up, reinforced by a fresh newcomer, Luchka, who had just joined the club. The midfielder has experience of playing in the First League and last season defended the colours of the bronze medallist of the Second League.

The game started quite actively. ‘Mriya tried to control the ball and applied high pressure, but Mykolaiv quickly seized the initiative. Already in the 16th minute, the hosts scored the first goal: after a multi-pass attack, Tsyupka got into the striking position and scored in the far corner. Mriya’s goalkeeper Merezhyn tried to deflect the ball, but with a double ricochet from both posts, the round ball crossed the goal line – 1-0.

Soon after, Mykolaiv doubled their lead, taking advantage of their standard. In the 21st minute, a corner kick from the right flag led to a shot by Slavetskyi. Merezhyn managed to save the first shot, but Dzyurakh was the first to finish, scoring from close range – 2-0.

Despite the hosts’ advantage, Mriya tried to create their own attacks. The visitors’ players tried to find gaps in Mykolaiv’s defence and forced the home goalkeeper into the game several times. However, the ball stubbornly missed the opponents’ goal.

The second half began with a new assault from Mykolaiv. And in the 57th minute, the hosts actually removed all questions about the winner. After a quick free-kick, a cross from the right flank found Kachor in the goalmouth, who skilfully closed the pass – 3-0.

Despite the disappointing score, Mriya continued to fight until the final whistle. The players from the capital showed character, tried to keep the ball more and launch attacks. However, the hosts, inspired by a confident handicap, confidently brought the match to victory, keeping their own goal dry.

As a result, FC Mriya returns home without any points, but with important experience and an understanding of what needs to be worked on further.
